Travel through the tropical rainforest, the rocky deserts of Arizona and the savannah of East Africa, the tropical coral reef and the Southeast Asian jungle. In addition to a large outdoor playground, there is also a spacious indoor playground. Many parts are indoors and therefore very suitable for a rainy day.
De Oude Oever is located near the Veluwe, a special landscape with beautiful forests, vast heaths, herds of sheep and gently flowing streams. The best way to explore the park is by bicycle, especially since you can use the famous white bicycles for free. Of course you can also bring your own bicycle.
Under the Rijnstraat in Arnhem, you can visit 39 connected centuries-old cellars. They were restored to their former glory and connected in 2001. Take a journey through time and experience the history of Arnhem. It is best to visit the cellars with a guide from Gilde Stadswandeling. The entrance is about 50 metres from the apartment.

Via a spiral staircase you reach a higher part where you can enjoy a wide view of the city, the river and the woods. At a height of 63 meters, the elevator makes a stop, where you can literally see the city below your feet on the glass balconies in a dizzying way.
(Nederlands Openlucht Museum) Experience the daily life of historic Holland in the 44-hectare museum park. The activities in the museum and the artisans bring the historic buildings to life. Friendly ‘residents’ talk with enthusiasm about their work and life. There is plenty to do for all age groups.
In September 1944, the largest airborne operation during the Second World War took place, the Battle of Arnhem. At the Rijnkade near the John Frost bridge you can experience this part of Operation Market Garden in the Airborne At The Bridge museum. For a more extensive experience, visit the Airborn Museum Hartenstein in Oosterbeek.

Opposite the entrance to De Oude Oever is the freely accessible Rozet. In this beautiful architectural building you will find the Library, the Art Company, the Volksuniversity, Kunstuitleen toART and the Heritage Center. The building was designed by Neutelings Riedijk Architects from Rotterdam and was officially opened on December 10, 2013 by Princess Beatrix. You can discover the building via a large staircase, the inner street. From the panorama terrace on the top floor you have a wide view of the city and the surrounding area.
The Heritage Center can be found on the bottom floor (-1). Walk through the history of Arnhem and Gelderland. Here you will find landscape maps, jewellery, pottery and a large collection of books. Many pieces of the heritage center can also be found in all the display cases and frames along the imposing stairwell of the Rozet building.
